Maitreya signs a
record deal with Vici Solum Productions.
Yesterday, June 24
(we) the duo Martin Fogander & Linus Melchiorsen had an appointment
with Vici Solum Productions in Stockholm, to discuss a record deal
for the upcoming album, and also to sign a license deal on the
debute "New World Prophecy".
The past week we've
been in contact with Vici Solum discussing a record deal, and
yesterday we hit the road to meet face to face. After a two hour
drive to Stockholm we arrived in the late afternoon and had a coffee
over the contract discussions. It all went fine, and finally we
signed a great deal for both parts:
1: The upcoming
album will be released through Vici Solum.
2: The previously self-released album "New World Prophecy"
has been signed through license with Vici Solum.
3: Eventually one or two more albums will be signed with Vici
Solum, after the release of the upcoming album.
We really liked the
dude Thomas and we felt really comfortable to sign a deal with him.
It's really feeling great. The timing for a record deal couldn't be
better for us. We are soon entering the studio for this second one,
and to nail a great record deal for both the debute and the upcoming
are like a dream come true. We are very hungry to start to record
this upcoming heavy-piece album. It really will be a killer! The
recording sessions is scheduled to start in around a month from now.

So, Now it's finally
up and running!
It's nice to finally throw this new fresh
official Maitreya site up on the web alongside with a fresh new
start of the band with plenty new happenings and with a new
recording coming up. We are entering a new era in the life of
Maitreya and we are really eager to start to do this on a regular
basis. We love it, and from now on, we will live and breathe
Maitreya.
As you might know, we
are going to start to record our second full-length release this
summer. The name for it is sofar "GEMINI", and that will
probably be the album title for it.
We will have a
studiodiary through the whole recording-process with videos and
comments, all distributed from here. We will also try to keep this
site fresh and updated more frequently than before.
"GEMINI" will be
recorded with the same lineup (as the debute-release "New world
prophecy");
Linus Melchiorsen - Growls, vocals, drums &
bass.
Martin Fogander - Guitars, vocals & keyes.
Johan "Goomba" Nilsson
will be the co-producer/engineer on it, as always. We love our
companionship with Goomba, and we are really looking forward to work
with him again.

A WELL NEEDED UPDATE
Maitreya has been asleep for some time now due to various reasons. We have decided to run Maitreya as a two man machine for a while. Our next studio album is scheduled to be recorded in a near future and the whole band felt that we were striving in different directions both musically and the urge to play live at the moment.
The core of the band is however still intact with Martin Fogander and Linus Melchiorsen still (now and before) as the only songwriters and producers. We are currently focusing on completing the songs for the upcoming album, simply entitled "GEMINI". We feel really relaxed and inspired to record yet another album, just the two of us with producer Johan "Goomba" Nilsson. We can assure you that Maitreya is alive and breathing, we just lost some weight! Keep checkin' for updates.
PS.. We feel we owe our fans a BIG Thank you and remember, it doesn't matter how you get hold of our music as long as you love it. Thanks pirate bay! :)

Due to the promotors finacial problems, half the setlist of bands on Metal Massacre in Linkoping November 2 will be cancelled. Unfortunately Maitreya is one of them. We think it is very sad news because we know a lot of people bought ticets to see us. We will try to arrange something in Linkoping in the near future because of this. Please don't blame us cause the problem clearly lies with the promotor.

New World prophecy review in Sweden Rock Magazine
Maitreya appears for the first time in the latest edition of the famous Sweden rock magazine with a great review of the debute album "New World Prophecy" plus a picture of the band. Thank you very much Simon Lundh for the great review.
The band is in a very productive state at the moment. A bounch of new songs has been written and some of them even recorded for promotional use. As you might have guessed, Maitreya is in the pre-production fase of a new album and things are slowly shaping up. We can proudly confirm that it's gonna progress into a killer album.
We have a few gigs planned for the coming months in Sweden. We can't reveal them yet though. We will keep you updated about them on this site.

Work in progress
Welcome to our new fresh official Maitreya site, just updated with new information, pictures etc. This news section will be updated as frequently as we possibly can. You can also visit our myspace site for information about forthcoming events etc. However, we have several new gigs in progress all over Scandinavia. As soon as they are confirmed we will let you know about them. (see list above)
There are progress regarding the distribution of our album "New World Prophecy". We know that there has been a long period of wait for it, and we can assure you that this problem will be fixed. You should be able to get a copy in the near future through a serious and reliable record dealer. We will of course link it directly on this site as well. Statement from the band
We are currently working on lots of new material but mainly focusing hard on our live set for forthcoming gigs. There has been a few changes in our line-up, so therefore we will soon add new images and info about them on this site. You can find one new picture (the first) in the "images section".
